Privacy Policy

Your data, plainly.

EFFECTIVE 2026-05-14

Photoword (the "App") is published by VTP Labs ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, why, and what choices you have. We've kept it short on purpose.

Short version: Photoword is a single-player word game. We don't ask for your name or email. Behind the scenes, Google Firebase and a product analytics tool (PostHog) help us fix crashes and see which puzzles players are loving. Nothing that comes back to us identifies you.

1. What we collect

The App does not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, or any other personal information.

To keep the App stable and to make it better over time, two trusted tools — Google Firebase and PostHog — help us with the things below. Everything is anonymous and encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

What we see are aggregate trends — "this puzzle is too hard", "this screen is slow on older phones" — not individual records.

We do not sell your data. It is processed on our behalf by Google (under Firebase's privacy terms) and PostHog Inc. (under PostHog's privacy policy).

2. Why we collect it

3. Local data on your device

Your puzzle progress and settings are stored only on your device using standard platform storage (SharedPreferences / NSUserDefaults / SQLite). Uninstalling the App deletes all of it.

4. Children's privacy

Photoword is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

5. Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise either, email vtplabs@gmail.com. You can also stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the App.

6. Where the data is processed

Google Firebase and PostHog process this data on servers located in the United States and other countries. Where EU law requires it, both use standard legal safeguards for these transfers. Their own data handling is governed by their respective privacy policies (Google, PostHog).

7. How long it's kept

Diagnostic and gameplay event data is kept per Google Firebase's and PostHog's configured retention settings, then aged out automatically. Anything stored locally on your device stays there until you uninstall.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves — for example, if we add new features that change what data is processed. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the App when reasonable.
